Stephen Curry Social Media Sparks Suspicion

Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors star has been a pillar of the franchise. There are people who do not envisage him ever playing for another team again. Nonetheless, his recent activities on social media have brought into question his stay in the Bay Area.

On Wednesday, Curry applied slight but conspicuous changes to his social media accounts that left fans and analysts wondering what it could possibly indicate. He then changed his Instagram bio from “Guard for the @Warriors” to “Olympic Gold Medalist”.

However this little change was enough to create some surprise.

Moreover, Curry changed his profile and header photos on Twitter (now X) with photos taken during the 2024 Paris Olympics instead of photos of himself in a Warriors uniform.

Also, he shared a post together with LeBron James captioning it as “Same Team. Winning Team”.

Stephen Curry Gold Medal Excitement

Clearly, Curry is very excited about winning an Olympic gold medal which is one his biggest career highlights.

Nevertheless, these moves appeared like hints to numerous Warriors supporters that he may be thinking about leaving the Golden State one day alongside LeBron James in NBA. We live in a world where every move made by celebrities on social media is analyzed intensively.

This shows that there are also many observers who look at what Curry does online. Thus, even if they seem pointless, these changes have fueled speculation. Curry’s contract with the Warriors runs until 2025-26 season ends.

The player will be 38 years old by the time he becomes free agent in 2026. Even though Curry has repeatedly stated that he wishes to retire as Warrior; some commentators have started imagining situations where he can join LeBron James elsewhere.

The idea was recently floated by Kendrick Perkins who used to play basketball at NBA and now works as an analyst there. In case Lakers and Warriors struggle so much next season i.e., 2024-25 season, then Curry and James might force their teams into trading them.

“If they want to get somewhere, they can, no matter what points of their contracts they are in,” said Perkins on ESPN’s “First Take.” He was referring to two most influential people in basketball.
