Comic Book Chronicles Kobe Bryant’s Legendary Life Hits Shelves

The latest release of TidalWave Comics’ “Tribute” series has revealed the life and career of NBA icon Kobe Bryant. The comic book, which runs to 22 pages, captures the extraordinary journey that Bryant, nicknamed “Black Mamba,” went through.

This is the newest volume in the Tribute series, which pays homage to Bryant’s transformation from a young basketball prodigy into a global icon. The story is written by Michael Frizell and illustrated by Pablo Martinena. In this comic, every step on Bryant’s path to stardom is tracked down with an eye for detail.

This means that his career began in 1996 when the Charlotte Hornets picked him directly from high school. But his trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played for 20 years, marked the beginning of his brilliant era.

Kobe Bryant’s Legacy

Bryant’s indomitable spirit and exceptional talent made him one of the greatest players in NBA history.

For example, he led the Lakers to five NBA championships during his career, made 18 All-Star appearances, and was named MVP in 2008. He even became a youth sports advocate and championed education, among other things, beyond the basketball court.

Recognizing his creative efforts, Bryant won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film titled Dear Basketball (2018). His death on January 26, 2020, following a helicopter crash alongside his daughter Gianna, added more weight to this story as millions around the world mourned their loss as athletes or fans.

This “Tribute” comic is a timely reminder of how Bryant will always be remembered and how much impact he made inside and outside sport. “It’s our way of paying tribute to those who have had a lasting impact on the world,” Davis said.

Starting Wednesday, August 28, “Tribute: Kobe Bryant” will be available in digital platforms as well as print copies/versions/editions/formats. Martina will do the cover illustrations for the paperback, whereas the print version will be available in two editions: softcover and hardcover.
